Festiwal Sztuki Cyfrowej Patchlab to wydarzenie o międzynarodowej renomie, organizowane corocznie w Krakowie od 2012 roku, eksplorujące dynamiczny wpływ technologii na społeczeństwo i środowisko poprzez sztukę. Festiwal organizowany jest przez Fundację Photon, założoną przez Elwirę Wojtunik i Popesza Csabę Lánga, którzy są również jego inicjatorami i kuratorami.

Każda edycja festiwalu skupia się na twórczym potencjale maszyn, algorytmów, programowania i baz danych, podejmując aktualne zagadnienia współczesnej kultury cyfrowej i sztuki. Program festiwalu porusza tematy takie jak rzeczywistość wirtualna, rozszerzona i mieszana (VR/AR/XR), sztuczna inteligencja, uczenie maszynowe, hakowanie czy tożsamość cyfrowa.

Patchlab oferuje zróżnicowany program obejmujący wystawy, interdyscyplinarne performance’y, immersyjne doświadczenia, koncerty audiowizualne, projekcje wideo, warsztaty, prezentacje efektów rezydencji artystycznych, a także wykłady i panele dyskusyjne z udziałem międzynarodowych ekspertów.

Festiwal Patchlab został wyróżniony prestiżowym znakiem jakości EFFE Label przyznawanym przez European Festivals Association (EFA) za wyjątkowe podejście, innowacyjność, wysoką jakość artystyczną, zaangażowanie społeczne i otwartość na współpracę międzynarodową. W 2021 roku otrzymał również Badge of Invention za wyjątkowe działania w czasie pandemii COVID-19. Patchlab jest członkiem międzynarodowej platformy AVnode, zrzeszającej artystów i wydarzenia poświęcone współczesnej sztuce audiowizualnej, wspieranej przez program Kreatywna Europa Unii Europejskiej.

Festiwal Patchlab jest współfinansowany przez Miasto Kraków.

Patchlab Digital Art Festivalis an internationally recognised annual event held in Krakow since 2012, dedicated to exploring the dynamic impact of technology on society and the environment through the lens of contemporary art. The festival is organised by the Photon Foundation, founded by Elwira Wojtunik and Popesz Csaba Láng, who are also the originators and curators of the festival.

Each edition of Patchlab focuses on the creative potential of machines, algorithms, programming, and data, addressing key phenomena in today’s digital culture and art. The program delves into topics such as virtual, augmented and mixed reality (VR/AR/XR), artificial intelligence, machine learning, hacking, and digital identity.

The festival presents a diverse program that includes exhibitions, interdisciplinary performances, immersive experiences, audiovisual concerts, video screenings, workshops, presentations of artistic residencies, as well as lectures and discussion panels with international experts.

Patchlab has been awarded the EFFE Label, a prestigious quality mark from the European Festivals Association (EFA), recognising its outstanding and innovative approach, artistic excellence, social engagement, and international openness. In 2021, the festival also received the Badge of Invention for its exceptional adaptability and creative response during the COVID-19 pandemic. Patchlab is a member of AVnode, an international platform supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, uniting artists and events dedicated to contemporary audiovisual art.

The Patchlab Festival is co-financed by the City of Krakow.
