Instalacja świetlna Dark Matter stworzona przez artystów Viktor Vicsek [HU] i Elektro Moon Vision [PL/HU] została zrealizowana w wyniku współpracy z festiwalem Conrada, festiwalem Patchlab 2017 oraz Węgierskim Instytutem Kultury w Warszawie w ramach Roku Kultury Węgierskiej.
Projekt inspirowany nastrojem i atmosferą opowiadania Josepha Conrada pt. Jądro Ciemności i nawiązujący do tematu przewodniego festiwalu Conrad – Niepokój. Instalacja jest przestrzenią, która wciąga w głąb tajemniczego i bliżej nieokreślonego świata. Centrum stanowi interaktywna rzeźba świetlna reagująca w zależności od ilości obecnych osób i ich pozycji w stosunku do niej, zmieniając formę poprzez modyfikację aktywnych świateł. Rzeźba zanurzona jest we fragmentach tekstu powieści Conrada w trzech językach: polskim, węgierskim i angielskim. Całość zanurzona jest w ambientowym dźwięku, potęgując wrażenie odcięcia od rzeczywistości i zanurzenia w mrocznym świecie z innego wymiaru.
Instalacja prezentowana była w dniach 24-29.10.2017 w Pałacu Czeczotki przy ul. św. Anny 2 – siedzibie festiwalu Conrada 2017.
Light installation Dark Matter was created by Viktor Vicsek [HU], Elektro Moon Vision [PL/HU] in frame of Photon Foundation cooperation with Conrad Festival, Patchlab Digital Art Festival 2017 and Hungarian Institute of Culture in Warsaw, within the Year of Hungarian Culture.
Dark Matter is inspired by the mood of “Heart of Darkness” – the novel written by Joseph Conrad, which refers to the main theme of Conrad Festival – Anxiety. The installation invites the visitor to enter a mysterious and undefined world. Interactive light sculpture situated in the center, can sense human presence and depending on the amount of people and their position, it changes its form by modifying the lights, like a living non-terrestrial organism. The sculpture includes excerpts from the book in three languages: Polish, Hungarian and English. Ambient sounds increase the impression of being out of touch with reality and being immersed in a mysterious, dark world from another dimension.
